INNOVATION OF THE YEAR – CARE MODEL WINNER:
The House Companion™ Support Worker model by NewDirection Care, Bellmere, Australia for best care model implementation that demonstrates improvement in quality of life for older adults.

At the 6th Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards 2018 Ceremony and Dinner that ended on a high note on 16 May in Singapore, 42 organisations and industry representatives were recognised for their innovative approaches and outstanding contributions in shaping the future of the ageing landscape. As the winner of Innovation of The Year – Care Model, Natasha Chadwick of NewDirection Care, Australia delivered a keynote address to the attendees at the 9th International Ageing Asia Innovation Forum, held in conjunction with the awards.

Close to 300 guests from 19 countries attended the awards dinner that was opened by Dr Kanwaljit Soin, Author, Orthopedic Surgeon and Former Nominated Member of Parliament, Singapore. The event also saw a global orchestra where performers from Sweden & Singapore put together an inter-generational performance combining strings, technology and body movements.

A total of 22 award categories, including two new categories that recognise individual industry representatives – Ageing Asia Global Ageing Influencer Award and Global Ageing Trailblazers, were given out at the awards ceremony and dinner. The Global Ageing Influencer Award honours and applauds the outstanding achievements of the most influential global leaders impacting ageing in Asia Pacific while the Global Ageing Trailblazers recognises multidisciplinary leadership in ageing that inspires change in their home country.
